Designated as a National Natural Landmark, you'll find one of the finest stands of virgin timber in the eastern United States located here. The park, bordering Clarion, Jefferson, and Forest counties constitutes 6,422 acres and welcomes some 700,000 visitors each year.

The park offers twenty-seven miles of hiking trails intertwining throughout the park and its 2,000 acres of virgin timber. Along the way, find playgrounds, picnic pavilions, and nearly 350 picnic tables situated in both sun and shade. Swimming is available at the park pool as well as the Clarion River.

Designated as a "wild and scenic" river, the Clarion provides excellent opportunities for canoeing and innertubing. Fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and cycling are other popular choices. During winter, an abundance of snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails combine with ice skating and acres of sledding slopes for endless hours of enjoyment.
